Our mission is to keep Delta Blues alive by sharing it with other people. Whether you're hearing this music for the first time or you have heard many times before, we hope that our enthusiasm and joy playing this music is contagious.
Meet Chaz
Charlie Wheeler’s introduction to the Blues came from the many R&B bands coming out of Britain in the sixties. After being part of the London music scene in the seventies, Charlie moved to California playing drums in different blues bands. Fueled by his love of early blues pioneers like Robert Johnson and Son House, Charlie put down the sticks and picked up the slide.

Jess Zavala’s love of music started with Rhythm and Blues in the sixties. Growing up, Jess taught himself to play harmonica with a dream on joining his older brothers band. His dream never materialized but his passion for playing harmonica and love of the blues never left. Influenced by Paul Butterfield, Sonny Boy Williamson, and John Lee Hooker, Jess makes a powerful contribution to this blues duo.
